PPDVP Regional Conference concludes

The Regional Conference concluded at midday on Friday 15 October.  The morning was spent in examining how countries might respond to the International White Ribbon Day events on the 25th November.  Participants have received a “starter kit” of resources – banners, vehicle stickers, wrist bands, white ribbon badges and balloons for use in their local events.

Countries will work together to develop their own specific events and PPDVP and the AFP Pacific Policing Development Programme (PPDP) will assist them to meet their needs.

A special “end of conference” and “White Ribbon Day” newsletter has been produced and will be posted on the site later in the day.

Many of the 50 participants will leave today to begin traveling home – some will be home with their families the same day, while others will not get home for another 10 days because of the distance or the infrequency of aircraft and vessels movements.
