Baseline Review Updates contract awarded

The PPDVP has awarded a research contract to the Research Trust of Victoria University of Wellington to update four Baseline Reviews on domestic violence conducted in 2006 and 2007.

The original Reviews conducted in the Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga and Kiribati will be refreshed to see what changes have occurred in the community and the police on managing domestic violence, and how these changes can be attributed to the work of the PPDVP with the country police services and NGO’s.

The survey work will be done in August and September and the final reports are due in December 2010.

The Researchers, who are supported by the PPDVP team and local police as they arrange their work, are Professor Peggy Fairbairn-Dunlop and Dr Venezia Kingi.  Dr Michael Roguski will replace Professor Fairbairn-Dunlop for the Samoa and Tonga work, due to her becoming unavailable.
