Cook Island TV broadcasts PPDVP training video

The Cook Islands TV station broadcast the PPDVP training videos used to train domestic violence staff in how to attend an incident .  The hour long item broadcast at prime time between the local TV news and NZ TV One News on Tuesday 15th June showed the initial “bad case scenario” – where eveything goes wrong; followed by extracts from the training videos used at courses; and finally the full “best case” scenario.

The following morning Cook Islands Radio carried a one hour talk back session on domestic violence where the PPDVP in country mentor, John Robinson, outlined the programme and described the police response to domestic violence cases in the Cook Islands.

A portion of the training video is attached.  This can be played by clicking on the link below, but please note that it is a large file (9MB) and it may take time to load and run on a slow internet connection.
