Samoa Police DV data

The Domestic Violence Unit in the Ministry of Police and Prisons, Samoa uses the Jade Investigator / CMIS database to manage reports of domestic violence which are received by them.

The Samoa DV team has dealt with 886 cases in less than three years.  The cases handled by the DV unit are those carrying less than 5 years as a maximimum penalty.  More serious cases are referred to the CID for investigation. The data does not include cases referred to or reported directly to the CID, such as homicides, rape or similar serious crimes.

The Samoa Police DV Unit has seven staff, who operate a full 24 hr a day service.
