RAC meeting in Nadi on 18th November

The PPDVP Regional Advisory Committee (RAC) met at Nadi on the 18th of November.  Representatives from the NZAID, RRRT, UNIFEM, NZ Police and the PICP were joined by two Cook Island Police members – the DV coordinator Pauline Rangi and the second in charge of general policing, Inano Matapo.

The Cook Islands presentation held special interest for the RAC members as they described the renewal of DV investigation processes in their country with the change to a CID led investigation approach.  Their presentation including details of the levels of domestic violence offending is below.

The RAC members considered the PPDVP Draft Annual report for the 2008-09 year, considered an analysis of the range of regional and in country activities on domestic violence and undertook to update this matrix, heard reports of activities in participating countries and across the region, and joined in a general round table on their activities.

The RAC will meet again in April 2010.
